CHARACTER
[series] Touhou Project
[full name] Seiga Kaku
[age] Unknown, but well over 1000 years old; closer to 2000, but she looks like a woman in her twenties.
[gender] female
[canon point] post-Touhou 13, Ten Desires
[reference] http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Seiga_Kaku
[personality] One of the biggest events that shaped Kaku Seiga's personality happened when she was just a little girl. Her father became interested in the Tao, and left her to pursue the way of a hermit. This formed the basis of an obsession with the Tao that defined her life. She read one of her father's books again and again, deciding that she was going to follow in his footsteps and become a hermit herself so that she could meet him again.
Even after she grew up and married, she never forgot her desire to pursue her study of the Tao. She became depressed, practically a shut-in. Years passed, and she said her goodbyes. When Seiga went to sleep that day, she never woke again.
She cast aside her body, her family, and the world, choosing to become a hermit.
There was a single problem: she wasn't a good hermit. She studied, yes, but as a hermit she was granted a certain degree of power - maintaining her youthful appearance, her ability to pass through walls - and she used this ability upon a whim, rather than using it for good. She became feared, rather than respected. None of this mattered; so long as she was using her power in order to spread Taoism, she would go to any lengths necessary. If she could just become stronger, push harder...then she could find her father again, perhaps even surpass him. She could show him that she was stronger, more devoted, and then regain the love she felt was denied when she was abandoned.
Because she deceived her family in order to fulfill her goal, and did things that made the public afraid of her, she was shunned by the Heavens. This didn't matter so much to her; because she wasn't afraid to deceive others and to make them fear her, being shunned didn't make her change a bit. She was single-minded in the pursuit of her goal, after all, devoted to it above all else.
But there was a problem: her ego. She rather liked to show off her power in order to spread Taoism. No matter how much she tried, though, she couldn't achieve the level of power she wanted in a country with other Taoists and hermits of her level. So, she moved to a country where there were no others of her level - Japan.
It wasn't long before her exploits caught the ear of a woman of virtue - the Crown Prince, Toyosatomimi no Miko. Seiga showed Miko her power, introduced her to the Way...and it worked. Seiga's plan went into action, allowing her to pursue her goal of immortality under the guise of being an advisor to the crown. She suggested that they keep their practice a secret, acting as Buddhists in public, but in private, pursuing their own studies, with immortality as the goal. Why? So that when Buddhism fell, she and the others would be in prime position to achieve her goal.
In other words? Seiga is a power-hungry woman who will stop at nothing to fulfill her goals. She's good at bending the ears of those in power, manipulating or coercing them to follow her will. She isn't afraid to show off the power that she knows that she has, even enjoying the gratuitous displays. If she needs to, she'll go so far as to actively using someone - the most obvious example is with her jiang shi, Yoshika. She sees her as less of a girl and more of a useful tool, one she can fix any time she breaks.
It doesn't matter what the the task is - if it raises her position and her power? She'll do it. Manipulation is second nature to her; manipulating the crown prince of Japan to start a major religious war? That's nothing to her. She feels neither guilt nor shame about her actions. She's driven by her desires and nothing more.
[orientation] In the legend that her character is based upon, she falls in love with a man, but in her canon profile, it merely mentions that she married into the Kaku family; we don't know whether she was in love with the man she married or not. As such, her orientation is unknown.
[appearance] Seiga has blue eyes and blue hair, secured into two large loops with a long hair stick. She wears a light blue dress with flowers embroidered onto it, and a talisman on her leg, used to maintain her bond with Miyako Yoshika.
[wish] True immortality. She's been working towards this goal, yes, but it's not quite there; she wants to become a legend, something truly immortal.
[requested house] Nadeshiko
[misc notes] Her normal bond with Yoshika won't work as it usually does. She won't be able to control or repair her via the talisman she wears. All her other magic - danmaku, and the ability to phase through walls - will be blocked off.

[Seiga is perfectly calm and composed when the video feed clicks on, the very picture of elegance in a blue kimono patterned with flowers. Her usual hair stick is replaced by a delicate hair ornament, perfectly matched to her ensemble.]
It's been a very long time since I've had the occasion to dress in this way. I suppose it's true, then, what they say: those in the 'water trade' must look the part.
Should I be practicing tea ceremony and shamisen, then, or would my time be better spent in reading on those techniques? I'm sure that you know the ones I mean.
[She covers her mouth with the sleeve of her kimono, chuckling a bit.]
My, to think that would be expected of me...
[Another small laugh, and the feed clicks off.]
[smut drabble]
Seiga lay back on her futon, breathing heavy and skin flushed, just as one would expect in this situation. It might have been a very long time since she'd known the touch of another like this, but her body still remembered. That was a good thing, she supposed, knowing what to do even if her memories of doing this before were slightly hazy. Her client had certainly seemed pleased at the way she licked and sucked at him, and the heat she'd begun to feel between her legs just made him smirk when he touched her there.
But all of that? Body memory. She certainly reacted when he touched her again, pressed his body to hers, and pressed his length inside her, but that was simply her body's reaction. In her mind, she's focused elsewhere. Keep to the center, she repeats, be soft, be yielding - and then he shifts, and her concentration is broken with a cry.
